A deputy in Mykolaiv Oblast concealed more than 460,000 hryvnias in his wife’s income
A court in Pervomaisk imposed a fine; the ruling has already taken effect
A member of the Pervomaisk City Council in Mykolaiv Oblast was fined 17,000 hryvnias for knowingly providing false information in his annual 2024 declaration. The Pervomaisk City and District Court found him guilty of an administrative offense. The Pervomaisk District Prosecutor’s Office of Mykolaiv Oblast announced the outcome of the case.
The court established that when he filed the document, the council member knew about his wife’s income but did not include it in the declaration. This information was subject to mandatory disclosure. The discrepancy between the actual and declared figures exceeded 460,000 hryvnias.
During the hearing, the prosecutor proved that the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On Prevention of Corruption” had been violated. The court classified the council member’s actions under Part 4 of Article 172-6 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses—knowingly providing false information in a declaration. The ruling imposing liability has now taken effect.
