Houses for internally displaced persons are planned to be purchased with state funds in three communities in Mykolaiv Oblast. The Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine announced the funding on msp.gov.ua.

In the region, housing will be purchased in the following communities:

  • Arbuzynka;
  • Kazanka;
  • Veselynove.

In total, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allocated a 26.5 million hryvnia subvention to purchase houses in eight oblasts. As part of the first tranche, 53 houses are planned to be purchased in rural areas across 19 communities. They are intended for the temporary accommodation of displaced and evacuated people.

The funds have already been transferred to the accounts of the regional military administrations. In addition to Mykolaiv Oblast, the following regions received funding:

  • Volyn Oblast;
  • Dnipropetrovsk Oblast;
  • Kyiv Oblast;
  • Kirovohrad Oblast;
  • Kharkiv Oblast;
  • Kherson Oblast;
  • Chernivtsi Oblast.

“As the houses are being purchased, we provide communities with the legal support they need. At the same time, together with international and humanitarian partners, we have already arranged for the purchase of furniture and household appliances to equip the future homes. We coordinate the efforts of communities, IDP Councils, civil society and charitable organizations, and international partners to find and furnish houses for IDP families so that people can move in, settle in, and integrate into their communities as soon as possible,” said Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine Tetiana Kyriienko.
