According to the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, the homes are to be purchased in eight regions:
- Volyn;
- Dnipropetrovsk;
- Kyiv;
- Kirovohrad;
- Mykolaiv;
- Kharkiv;
- Kherson;
- Chernivtsi.
Under the current funding allocation, the largest number of houses is planned for Kyiv region. No additional state budget expenditure is needed for this purchase: the funds will be provided through an already approved budget program.
The funding is intended to help communities provide housing for displaced people more quickly.
“Our main task is to give people who have lost their homes because of the war a sense of security and a roof over their heads. At the same time, we are working with our partners to engage public organizations in preparing the houses and ensuring decent living conditions,” explained Tetiana Kiriyenko, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine.
The program to provide housing for internally displaced and evacuated people is ongoing. Homes are currently being selected for families.
