Denmark has delivered ammunition for F-16s: pilots are already intercepting jet-powered Shaheds
Ammunition was delivered on an accelerated basis at Ukraine’s request
Ukrainian pilots are already using Danish ammunition for the F-16 fighter jets’ cannons to intercept Shahed-type jet-powered attack drones.
Denmark has supplied Ukraine with more than 50,000 rounds of 20 mm ammunition. They were delivered on an expedited basis in response to a request from the Ukrainian side.
F-16 fighter jets are among the most effective means of countering jet-powered drones of this type. Ukrainian pilots need sufficient ammunition stocks to intercept them effectively. The shipment will help sustain the use of onboard cannons during missions to protect Ukraine’s airspace.
The delivery is important for strengthening Ukraine’s air defense and protecting the population from Russian air attacks. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine thanked Denmark for the prompt provision of the necessary weapons.
