Children accounted for the largest share of cases: 2,575 minors and 960 adults fell ill. In Mykolaiv itself, 1,706 ARVI cases were reported during the week, compared with 1,492 the week before.

Despite the increase in cases, the region’s epidemic threshold has not been exceeded. The incidence rate remains 32.4% below the threshold. A total of 53 patients with influenza and ARVI were admitted to hospitals. No deaths were reported.

Laboratory testing for influenza and ARVI was conducted on 20 samples. All results were negative: no laboratory-confirmed cases of influenza or COVID-19 were detected.

To prevent respiratory infections, healthcare professionals recommend:

  • maintaining hand hygiene;
  • ventilating indoor spaces;
  • avoiding contact with people who are ill.

If symptoms develop, it is advisable to stay home and contact your family doctor.
