Two toddlers and a minibus driver injured in Russian attacks on Mykolaiv region
Children were hospitalized; strikes occurred in the Halytsynivka and Shevchenkove communities
Three civilians — two young children and a minibus driver — were injured in Russian attacks in Mykolaiv District, Mykolaiv Region, on Thursday, October 8.
At around 12:00, Russian forces struck one of the settlements in the Shevchenkove community with a drone. It hit a garage, damaging a residential house and an outbuilding.
A one-year-old boy and a three-month-old girl were hospitalized at the Mykolaiv Regional Children’s Hospital. The type of drone used in the strike is still being determined.
Earlier that day, at around 10:00, a minibus in one of the villages in the Halytsynove community came under attack. According to investigators, a Russian FPV drone struck the vehicle, injuring the 66-year-old driver.
Following the Russian attacks, the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office opened a pre-trial investigation into possible war crimes under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Prosecutors and investigators are documenting the aftermath of the strikes and establishing all the circumstances of the incidents.
