The faction «European Solidarity» decided to end political cooperation with Member of Parliament Oleksii Honcharenko due to ideological differences. This decision is set out in a statement by the political force published on Monday, October 5, 2026.
Before this, the MP posted a series of messages on Telegram about possible ways to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Among other things, he reflected on negotiations and concessions.
The party believes that Honcharenko’s public statements about ending the war and the future security system of Ukraine contradict its position and ideological principles. At the same time, the faction supports debate and diversity of views, but emphasizes: differences in political tactics should be separated from disagreements over core values and the state’s strategic course.
The unchanging foundations of «European Solidarity» include:
- a strong Ukrainian army;
- the Ukrainian language;
- an independent Ukrainian church;
- membership of Ukraine in the European Union and NATO.
In the party’s statement, they explained the decision with the following words:
“That is precisely why we made the decision that we can no longer continue the joint political path due to ideological disagreements. This decision does not erase years of joint work. But party unity cannot be a formality behind which fundamentally different answers to questions about the state’s future are concealed.”
Separately, the party places the current responsibility for Ukraine‘s negotiating position and its diplomatic strategy on the authorities. It demands that they present to society a realistic plan for ending the war and achieving a just peace.
Compromises, as stated in the statement, can be part of negotiations. However, the independence of Ukraine, its European future, national identity, and the right to independently choose its own security system must not become the subject of such concessions.
President Volodymyr Zelensky previously said that Ukraine is ready to take part in a trilateral meeting with the USA and Russia at a technical level.
