In August 2026 the average salary of a full-time employee in Ukraine was 31 892 hryvnias. Compared with the same month last year it increased by 23.1%, but compared with July it decreased by 1.1%. These figures were provided by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
Regional data show a noticeable difference in pay. The highest average was in the capital, followed by Luhansk and Kyiv oblasts. The lowest was recorded in Chernivtsi Oblast:
- Kyiv — 48 705 hryvnias;
- Luhansk Oblast — 33 981 hryvnias;
- Kyiv Oblast — 32 404 hryvnias;
- Chernivtsi Oblast — 22 807 hryvnias;
- Kirovohrad Oblast — 22 869 hryvnias.
By economic activity, the highest average salary was in information and telecommunications, and the lowest — in education:
- information and telecommunications — 79 170 hryvnias;
- education — 19 109 hryvnias.
In most sectors average monthly pay decreased. The largest drop compared with July was in health care and social assistance — 6.2%.
At the same time wages rose in some industries. These include:
- construction;
- trade;
- information and telecommunications;
- professional, scientific and technical activities.
Separately, Derzhstat published data on unpaid wages: as of 1 September 2026 arrears amounted to 3.8 billion hryvnias.
