Brigades of Municipal Enterprise “ELU Avtodorih” intensively cleaned the stormwater network of Mykolaiv before the rainfall and continued working during the rain on 23 September. The prior cleaning was intended to ensure unobstructed drainage of rainwater through the underground utilities.

During the day the company’s workers also inspected critical sections of the network. In particular, they examined collector No. 4 on Central Avenue in the “Dormashyny” area. The inspection confirmed that the system was operating normally.

At the same time, the municipal crews cleared storm grates and manholes where rainwater and wind had brought leaves, sand and small debris. Work was carried out at dozens of addresses across different districts of the city.

Cleaning was carried out in the following areas:

central part and descents — Admiralska Street, Spaska Street, Velyka Morska Street, Soborna Street, Sadova Street, Marka Kropyvnytskoho Street, Arkasivska Street, Buzky Boulevard and Varvarivskyi Descent;
avenues and residential districts — Heroes of Ukraine Avenue, Bohoyavlenskyi Avenue, Victory Square, Cosmonauts Street, Ozerna Street, Lazurna Street and Bila Street;
embankments and main thoroughfares — Naberezhna Street, 2nd Naberezhna Street, Industrialna Street, Bohorodychna Street, Pohranychna Street, Kovalska Street, Hromadyanska Street and Buznyka Street;
other city sections — Troitska Street, General Oleksa Almazov Street, Zaliznychna Street, Nahirna Street, Yevheniya Loginova Street, Heroes of Rescuers Street, Kytoboyiv Street, Novozavodska Street, Dachna Street, 3rd Voienna Street, 5th Parnykovyi Lane and other addresses.
