Europe will join talks on ending the war in Ukraine
Washington plans to bring delegations together in Abu Dhabi on November 10–11
European countries will join the Ukraine talks scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi next week. Reuters reports on the Europeans’ planned participation, citing a statement by the foreign minister of France.
“The Europeans will be well represented. France will come to Abu Dhabi to take part in these talks,” French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said in an interview with French radio station RTL.
However, the head of France’s Foreign Ministry has not yet specified who will represent his country at the meeting.
Washington’s plans to bring together delegations from Ukraine and Russia for talks on November 10–11 were announced earlier by US President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. The US side is expected to mediate between the participants.
The agenda is expected to cover:
- ending the war;
- postwar security guarantees;
- de-escalation;
- humanitarian issues;
- further steps toward peace.
