After eating mushrooms, a woman was hospitalized in serious condition in the Mykolaiv region

In the Pervomaiskyi district, a woman born in 1967 was recently hospitalized after feeling unwell following the consumption of mushrooms. She was admitted to the hospital in serious condition, and medical personnel informed rescuers about the case.

With the start of the autumn mushroom season, the risk of poisoning increases. Even a mushroom that looks familiar can be dangerous, so it is advised to pick only those mushrooms you are absolutely sure about.

When collecting and preparing mushrooms, rescuers advise:

• do not pick unknown, old, or damaged mushrooms;
• do not eat mushrooms raw;
• do not collect them near roads and industrial facilities;
• at home, carefully re-check the collected mushrooms and discard all suspicious ones.

During «quiet hunting» do not rush: it is better to leave a doubtful mushroom in the forest than to risk your health for a full basket.

Seek medical help immediately after consuming mushrooms if you experience nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness, weakness, or other unusual symptoms.
