Over three tons of cargo: Ukraine has created the first armored excavator
UAT-SPIDER is ready for contracting and serial production
Ministry of Defense of Ukraine codified and approved for operational use in the Defense Forces the first Ukrainian armored excavator-loader UAT-SPIDER. The vehicle completed the necessary tests, after which it became ready for contracting and the start of serial production. The company «UkrArmoTech» reported this.
UAT-SPIDER was created for the infantry of the Defense Forces to mechanize heavy physical work and reduce the burden on service members.
The armored vehicle is planned to be used for the following tasks:
- preparing combat positions and command posts;
- construction and restoration of military roads;
- carrying out other engineering and logistical tasks.
The excavator-loader can lift loads weighing more than 3 tons. Its design allows it to operate in hard-to-reach places and in confined spaces. The vehicle’s maximum speed is up to 38 km/h.
The crew cabin has protection against bullets and shrapnel, as well as mine protection to STANAG 4569 Level 1. Additional armor covers key components of the vehicle, including the engine, for which a special armored grille has been provided.
Depending on the tasks of the Defense Forces, the UAT-SPIDER model can be produced in several variants. The vehicle is equipped with an adapted chassis and, if necessary, larger front wheels.
