METRO in Mykolaiv closes indefinitely after Russian attack

The damaged shopping center will be restored, but the opening date has not yet been announced

The shopping center METRO in Mykolaiv is temporarily closing for an indefinite period after a Russian attack on the city. The company is currently assessing the damage sustained by the facility. This was reported by the METRO Ukraine press service. According to the company, as a result of the attack none of the store’s employees were injured.

The METRO team is currently assessing the extent of the damage and determining what work is required to restore the shopping center. The company emphasized that it is making every effort to restore the hypermarket’s operations as soon as possible. The exact reopening date will be announced later on METRO’s official channels. The Mykolaiv METRO shopping center is located at Heroes of Ukraine Avenue, 9-D.

Recall that on the night of September 9 Russian forces carried out a massive combined strike on Mykolaiv and the region using Shahed-238 attack drones, Iskander-M ballistic missiles, “Banderol” rockets and KAB. According to the city council, transport, port and civilian infrastructure in Mykolaiv were damaged.
