Russia struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones: two people were killed
In the capital, buildings were destroyed, and garages and a warehouse caught fire
On the night of 8 September Russian occupiers attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones. As a result of the strike, damage and fires were recorded in at least five districts of the capital.
The consequences of the attack were reported by the Kyiv City Military Administration and the State Emergency Service. According to the KCMA, two people were killed and another seven were injured.
In the Solomianskyi district debris fell on a five-story residential building. A three-story building was also damaged. Rescuers evacuated 10 people from there, and one more injured person was hospitalized before the units arrived.
In the Holosiivskyi district debris hit a non-residential 26-storey building. Structures were destroyed at the level of the 23rd floor. In another part of the district, a garage caught fire, after which the blaze spread to a business center. From that location, rescuers evacuated one injured person.
Additionally, two people were evacuated from an apartment in a 16-storey building after they were trapped by the shock wave.
- Darnytskyi district: debris damaged a car, and a garage on the grounds of a private house caught fire.
- Podilskyi district: a warehouse space ignited; cars and garage units were burning.
- Dniprovskyi district: firefighters continued to extinguish garages.
The Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, clarified that six people were wounded. Three of the injured were taken to hospital, and the other three were given outpatient medical assistance.
In total, rescuers managed to evacuate 13 people from damaged buildings. Authorities expressed condolences to the families of the deceased.
