Former 5th-grade fitter of the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant Volodymyr Kravchenko, who went to fight back in 2014, defended Mariupol and spent more than three years in Russian captivity, spoke in support of the work of the TCC. The serviceman is convinced that many Ukrainians did not take the war seriously until Russian strikes reached their cities, and some men have been hiding from mobilization for years. Volodymyr Kravchenko returned from Russian captivity on June 10, 2025.

“We didn’t know before what kind of TCC this was, like, whether it’s a normal TCC. I’ve supported such a TCC since 2014, so that there would be one. Because many since 2014 didn’t think we had a war here, that they’re fighting somewhere else, who are you fighting there. Well, they’ve had their fighting. Until it hit here, then they understood who we were fighting. That’s how the TCC is to this day. And who will fight? We will, constantly.

If it weren’t for the TCC, who would take this rabble. But they took him, then he ended up in battle, survived. He’s already a Hero of Ukraine, he likes it now. He joined the forces, got paid, everything’s fine, all good. He’s already a warrior. And before that they hide for four years, until they get caught”.
