In the Korabelnyi District, a BMW that had been parked for more than two months after an accident near the hospital caught fire
A car caught fire near Hospital No. 5; its driver went missing after an April crash
July 7 2026 a BMW caught fire on the grounds of City Hospital No. 5 in the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv. Social media users reported the fire, posting footage of the car engulfed in flames. Witnesses noted that it was the same black BMW that had been standing near the medical facility for more than two months after the crash.
The crash occurred on the night of April 23, 2026 on Samoylovych Street, opposite the hospital’s infectious diseases ward. The BMW with state registration number ВЕ 4932 НН crashed into the medical facility’s concrete fence and damaged the barrier. A hospital security guard called the police to the scene at the time. However, after the police arrived the driver was no longer in the car. The damaged vehicle remained on the hospital grounds and, according to local residents, stood there until July.
More than two months after the crash the car ignited. The causes of the fire are currently unknown, and no official information about any victims has been released.
