Three golds, four silvers and a bronze: Mykolaiv rowers triumphed in Kyiv
Mykolaiv rowers won 8 medals at the Ukrainian Championship
Athletes of the Mykolaiv School of Higher Sports Mastery won 8 medals at the Ukrainian Rowing Championships, which took place in Kyiv. This was reported by the Mykolaiv City Council on July 7, 2026.
David Shpylka claimed 2 gold medals in the disciplines 1x sculls and 2x sculls. Olga Shcherbyna became champion in 2x sculls, and also won 2 silver medals in 1x sculls and 8+. Svitlana Spiriukhova took 2 silver medals in the 4- and 8+ events. Oleksandr Veprev added a bronze medal to the team’s tally in the 8+.
Also reaching the championship finals were Oleksandr Veprev, who twice finished in 4th place, Maksym Andrushchak with 5th and 7th place finishes, and Svitlana Spiriukhova, Andrii Hamaniuk and Denys Nekrasov, who took 5th place finishes.
The athletes were prepared for the competitions by coaches Pavlo Pryshutov, Oleg Voloshchuk, Maryna Pryshutova, Alla Loshchilova and Yurii Pavlenko.
