Almost 1.5 million payments: Mykolaiv residents are massively switching to QR tickets in electric public transport
The number of cashless payments increased by 24%
In the first 6 months of 2026 passengers of the municipal enterprise КП “Mykolaivelektrotrans” made 1,497,000 payments for fares via a single QR code that works with cards from all banks.
This was reported by the municipal enterprise.
The number of cashless payments increased by 24% compared to the same period in 2025.
According to the director of КП “Mykolaivelektrotrans”, Yurii Smetana, the popularity of QR payments was supported by the opening of a new trolleybus route to the Kazarskyi microdistrict and the lower cost of the electronic ticket.
Currently, travel on trams and trolleybuses in Mykolaiv costs:
- 15 UAH when purchasing a ticket from the driver;
- 12 UAH when paying via the single QR code.
Passengers who paid via QR code can transfer to other trams and trolleybuses for free within 90 minutes.
If problems occur with the payment system, passengers can call: (099) 765 99 37.
