On trams and trolleybuses in Mykolaiv, since the introduction of the “controller ticket” on 18 May 2026, control service employees have found 68 passengers without a paid fare, the municipal enterprise “Mykolaivelektrotrans” reported.

The municipal enterprise emphasizes that travel on the city’s electric transport must be paid for, and a ticket can be purchased from the driver, at stationary sales points, or by using the unified QR-code system.

During on-the-spot checks, passengers who have not paid for the trip or for luggage transport are offered to purchase a “controller ticket” costing 300 hryvnias, which is issued exclusively by control service employees directly during the patrol inspection.

If they refuse to pay the cost of the “controller ticket,” controllers call representatives of the Security Police and the National Police to draw up the appropriate report.

To record cases of fare evasion, inspectors use body-worn video recorders, which allows them to document violations on the spot.
