The city of shipbuilders hasn't forgotten about sails yet: Mykolaiv yachtsmen opened the sailing season

During 26–28 June 2026 in the waters of the Mykolaiv Regional Yacht Club an open regional regatta of cruiser-racing yachts “Environmental Regatta in memory of S. Shapovalov” was held, dedicated to Constitution Day of Ukraine.

The competition was the first regatta of the sailing season. The results were reported in the Facebook group of the Regional Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve for sailing “Regional Yacht Club”.

Winners and prize-winners of the competition:

Group 1:

• 1st place — yacht “Serenity”, captain Rustam Safin;
• 2nd place — yacht “Otrada”, captain Andriy Bakutkin;
• 3rd place — yacht “Eridan”, captain Mykhailo Shyshkin.

Group 2:

• 1st place — yacht “Navarin”, captain Oleksandr Zholud;
• 2nd place — yacht “Antei”, captain Natalia Kubytska;
• 3rd place — yacht “Viktoria Sport”, captain Oleksandr Kuzmin.

Group 3:

• 1st place — yacht “Typhoon”, captain Daniil Bondarenko;
• 2nd place — yacht “Synop”, captain Vitaliy Postavchuk;
• 3rd place — yacht “Chaika”, captain Oleksandr Rantsev.

Group 4:

• 1st place — yacht “Soyuz-M”, captain Andriy Davydov;
• 2nd place — yacht “Leksa”, captain Oleh Tihanov;
• 3rd place — yacht “Fiesta”, captain Sergiy Bondarenko.

The organizers thanked the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Sailing Federation Yuriy Zhuravlyov, the co-organizer of the competition and captain of the yacht “Viktoria” Oleksandr Kuzmin, as well as the judge Andriy Buibarov.

Participants and organizers expressed special thanks to the Ukrainian defenders.
