The Executive Committee of the Mykolaiv City Council approved new monthly tuition fees for the city’s arts schools for the 2026–2027 academic year. The decision also provides additional benefits for children of Ukrainian servicemen.

The decision was approved on Wednesday, 24 June 2026.

The head of the city Department for Culture and Protection of Cultural Heritage, Yurii Lyubarov, explained that the tariffs were updated due to changes in sectoral regulatory acts and taking into account proposals from the heads of arts institutions.

According to him, the decision is intended to help support creatively gifted children and maintain the number of students in the schools.

From 1 September 2026 the monthly fee will be:

  • 800 hryvnias — piano, guitar, vocal, and classes at the Children’s Art School;
  • 700 hryvnias — theatre department and choreography;
  • 600 hryvnias — string (bowed) instruments, wind and percussion instruments, choral singing, bayan, accordion, domra, balalaika and bandura;
  • 600 hryvnias — art departments in children’s schools of arts and Children’s Music School No. 8.

The decision also establishes additional benefits for children of servicemembers.

A 50% discount will be given to children whose parents have the status of combatants — who participated in the ATO, in actions to defend Ukraine from Russian aggression, or in hostilities on the territory of other states.

Children whose one or both parents were killed, died or went missing while defending Ukraine will be fully exempt from fees.

The new tariffs and benefits will be in effect for the 2026–2027 academic year.
