Fatal collision in Mykolaiv region: Volkswagen driver killed, three others hospitalized
The police are asking witnesses of the accident to come forward
In the Voznesenskyi district of Mykolaiv region, police are establishing the circumstances of a fatal road traffic accident involving two cars. As a result of the crash one person died, and three others were injured.
This was reported by the communication department of the Mykolaiv region police.
The accident occurred on 15 June, at approximately 11:30 in the village of Oleksandrivka. According to law enforcement, the crash happened on General Podzihun Street, opposite a gas station.
The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf driven by a 31-year-old man, and a Honda CR-V driven by a 53-year-old driver.
As a result of the collision, the Volkswagen driver died at the scene.
The driver of the Honda CR-V crossover, as well as female passengers from both vehicles aged 21 and 49 with injuries of varying severity, were taken to a medical facility.
Investigators have provisionally classified the incident under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of road safety rules or vehicle operation by persons in control of vehicles, which caused the death of a victim.
At present, police are establishing all circumstances and causes of the accident.
The Department for the Investigation of Transport-Related Crimes of the investigative directorate asks citizens who witnessed the accident or have any information about its circumstances to contact: 099-725-23-00 or 102.
