Family "business" went awry: sisters suspected of drug dealing
Psychotropic drugs circulated among communities: police are searching for others involved in the drug ring
Two sisters from the Kirovohrad region and their acquaintance from Pervomaisk, according to police, organized the distribution of psychotropic substances in the territory of the Pervomaisk and Blahovishchenske communities. This was reported on May 28, 2026 by the Mykolaiv Oblast Police.
According to law enforcement, the suspects purchased a dangerous psychotropic substance, packaged it and sold it within a narrow circle of acquaintances. One of the suspects was detained by police in procedural order, and all three suspects have already been notified of suspicion. Depending on the article charged, the suspects face up to 10 years of imprisonment and up to eight years of incarceration.
During operational and investigative activities, law enforcement established that, according to the investigation, the drug business was planned by a 36-year-old resident of Kirovohrad Oblast. She involved her 22-year-old sister and a 47-year-old resident of Pervomaisk in the illegal activity. According to the investigation, the accomplices purchased amphetamine, packaged it and sold it during personal meetings among close acquaintances by the method “hand-to-hand”.
The 36-year-old woman was detained by police in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The 47-year-old resident of Pervomaisk was exposed while transporting drugs from a neighboring region for further sale in his community. During sanctioned searches at the residences of the suspects, law enforcement seized packaged powdery substance, ready-to-use cannabis, devices for drug use, mobile phones and other material evidence. All seized items were sent for appropriate expert examination.
Investigators have notified the two sisters of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues, committed repeatedly or by prior conspiracy by a group of persons. The article’s penalty provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The resident of Pervomaisk was notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs. He faces up to eight years of imprisonment.
The court has already chosen preventive measures for the two suspects in the form of remand in custody with the possibility of bail. Their accomplice was placed under 24-hour house arrest.
Police are identifying other persons who may be involved in the illegal activity, as well as the channels through which the suspects obtained the drugs.
