In Poltava, a married couple who called the recordings a "family archive" were taken into custody on child pornography charges
The investigation found that the abuse began when the child was two years old
In Poltava, a married couple were detained, accused of producing child pornography and sexually abusing their own underage daughter; the girl was removed from the family, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.
Juvenile prosecutors of the Poltava district prosecutor’s office, together with the cyber police, documented that the parents for several years filmed pornographic materials involving their six-year-old child and committed lewd acts against her.
The investigation established that the adults, taking advantage of the girl’s trust, photographed and filmed the naked child.
During a search of the family’s home, law enforcement seized computer equipment with evidence. It was also found that the abuse began when the girl was about two years old.
Prosecutors informed both detainees of suspicion for producing child pornography by prior conspiracy as a group of persons, for coercing a minor to participate in the creation of such materials, and for members of the family committing lewd acts against a minor. Separately, they are charged with intentional possession of child pornography without the purpose of sale or distribution.
The Child Protection Service removed the girl from the dangerous environment; she is undergoing examination in a hospital.
The court remanded the suspects in custody without the possibility of bail. The couple deny the charges and during the selection of the preventive measure stated that the photos and videos were allegedly intended for the family archive.
