In Vinnytsia region, a drunk mother stabbed her 17-year-old daughter in the back
The incident occurred on the evening of May 19 at their home; the injured woman called an ambulance herself, and her condition is satisfactory
In Vinnytsia region on Tuesday evening, 19 May, a woman stabbed her 17-year-old daughter with a knife in her own home; the victim was hospitalized, the suspect detained, the regional prosecutor’s office reported.
According to preliminary findings of the investigation, the conflict between the mother and the child erupted in the residence late in the evening, when the woman was intoxicated.
During the quarrel she grabbed a kitchen knife and began to threaten with it, after which the daughter tried to take the dangerous object away and leave the room.
“At first the girl tried to take the weapon from her mother, but, realizing she could not manage, she decided to leave the room. At that moment the woman stabbed her daughter from behind in the upper part of the back, where vital organs are located,” the regional prosecutor’s office said.
The victim managed to lock herself in another room and call an ambulance; she is currently in hospital, her condition is assessed as satisfactory and there is no threat to her life.
The suspect was detained by law enforcement, and the court has ordered pre-trial detention.
