During assault operations near Klishchiivka in Donetsk Oblast on 8 March 2024, a volunteer from Mykolaiv, Stepan Viktorovych Okhota, was killed; he was 37 years old and worked at the municipal enterprise Mykolaivvodokanal.

The loss was reported by the press service of the municipal enterprise Mykolaivvodokanal on its Telegram channel, confirming that Stepan Okhota was an employee of the company and took part in combat operations in the east of the country (link).

From the first days of the full-scale invasion he joined the defense of Mykolaiv, after which he took part in operations to liberate Kherson Oblast, carrying out tasks on the southern front.

Since the beginning of 2024, the fighter served as part of the 22nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, which was operating on the difficult Donetsk direction, where intense fighting continues.

The enterprise emphasized that colleagues and comrades knew him as a responsible warrior, dedicated to his duty, and a sincere patriot of Ukraine.

The staff of Mykolaivvodokanal expressed condolences to the deceased’s relatives and loved ones and offered support to the fighter’s family in this difficult time.
