100 days of changes at "Mykolaivvodokanal": new leadership promises an end to 'emergency mode'

General Director of the municipal enterprise “Mykolaivvodokanal” Gennadiy Izyumov, together with the Supervisory Board, summed up the results of the first 100 days of the new team’s work. As reported on May 12, 2026 on the municipal enterprise’s official Facebook page, this period became a stage of crisis management and the start of systematic changes in the water utility’s operation.

The enterprise stated that during this time a new management team was formed for the financial, technical, security and personnel directions. The new team placed the main emphasis on financial stabilization, increasing transparency and strengthening control over internal processes.

Separately, at “Mykolaivvodokanal” they reported an intention to gradually move away from constant emergency repairs and transition to scheduled network maintenance. According to Technical Director Vitaliy Tkachenko, the enterprise plans to raise the share of scheduled repair works to 30%.

The municipal staff also reported the renovation of the sanitation shop with support from Denmark. It is expected that this will allow sewage networks to be repaired using modern methods year-round, regardless of season.

As part of internal changes, the enterprise optimized its staffing structure and began implementing an employee performance evaluation system (KPI). In addition, from January 1, 2026 the average wage at the enterprise increased by 10%.

Management paid special attention to controlling resource use. The enterprise strengthened monitoring of fuel consumption through GPS control and sealing, and also announced additional procurement oversight. A separate confidential reporting channel was created for messages about possible violations or abuses.

The Chair of the Supervisory Board Hanna Montavon and General Director Gennadiy Izyumov noted that the main challenge for the enterprise remains providing stable and high-quality water supply for the residents of Mykolaiv, and that all initiated changes should be aimed precisely at this.
