Scandal in Mykolaiv: councilors demand that the mayor investigate a conflict within the water utility's management
Deputies reported signs that the workforce has lost confidence in the enterprise's management
In Mykolaiv, tensions are escalating around one of the city’s key communal enterprises. The deputy group “Sanation” has appealed to the city mayor Олександра Сєнкевича with an official demand to respond to the conflict surrounding “Mykolaivvodokanal“.
This was reported on April 17, 2026 on the social network Facebook by the head of the group Андрій Єрмолаєв.
In their appeal, the deputies stated signs of a loss of trust by the workforce in the management decisions of the enterprise’s leadership. In their view, such a situation is unacceptable for a structure responsible for the city’s water supply and wastewater services.
The deputies demand the urgent creation of a working group with the participation of city council representatives and that the mayor hold a personal meeting with the enterprise’s staff as soon as possible to openly discuss the conflict and stabilize the institution’s operations.
Separately, the appeal mentions the dismissal of the technical director Василя Тельпіса, who worked at the enterprise for 42 years. It was this personnel decision that raised a wave of questions among the deputies.
In this regard, they insist on an official investigation into the circumstances of the dismissal, a review of possible inconsistencies in public statements, and clear legal explanations regarding the grounds for such a decision.
Also, based on the results of the review, it is proposed to consider the possibility of returning Василя Тельпіса to the enterprise’s structure or involving him in technical work, taking into account his many years of experience and the importance of uninterrupted operation of the city’s systems.
“We stand with the workforce of MKP «Mykolaivvodokanal» and believe that the situation at the enterprise requires immediate discussion”, – Yermolaiev noted in his post.
Note that yesterday the press service of “Mykolaivvodokanal” published a statement that the enterprise is strengthening internal security measures (the newly created Department of Economic Security will become a key instrument of the changes):
