Freedom for some, duty for others: Zelensky announced a new division of Ukrainians

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukrainians are held differently responsible for staying abroad depending on their age and the circumstances of departure. According to him, young people who have not reached mobilization age have the legal right to stay outside the country. At the same time, the issue of men of mobilization age who left Ukraine and remained abroad is considered separately, especially if this happened in violation of the rules.

Separately, the president emphasized that the state expects the return of those citizens of mobilization age who left the country illegally or did not return after a temporary trip. This issue, he said, is related not only to legality but also to the needs of the army, in particular ensuring rotations in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

He stressed that responsibility for defending the state should be borne by all Ukrainians who are able, are of mobilization age, and have the corresponding constitutional duty.
