Explosion in an apartment in Mykolaiv region: young mother killed, two children injured
The home was supposed to be safe, but became the scene of a deadly tragedy
In Pervomaisk police are establishing the circumstances of an explosion in an apartment of a multi-storey building, as a result of which a 25-year-old woman died and her two young children sustained injuries.
As reported, the incident occurred on 20 March 2026. Around 16:45 rescuers notified the Pervomaisk District Police Department about an explosion in one of the apartments of the multi-storey building.
According to preliminary information, an unidentified object detonated. The young woman died at the scene from her injuries. Her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son, with injuries of varying severity, were hospitalized to a medical facility. Doctors are currently providing the children with necessary care.
At the scene, officers of the investigative-operational group, detectives, a forensic expert from the district police department, and explosive technicians from the regional police headquarters are working.
Authorities are currently investigating all causes and circumstances of the tragedy. Which exact object exploded in the apartment and under what conditions this occurred has not yet been officially reported.
