Mykolaiv fencers win gold at the Ukrainian Cup in sabre and foil

Fencers from Mykolaiv won gold, silver and bronze medals at the Ukrainian Cup, held in Uzhhorod from October 26 to 31. Mykolaiv athletes reached the podium in individual and team sabre, as well as team foil.

This was the first all-Ukrainian senior tournament of the 2026/27 season. It brought together competitors in all three weapons: sabre, épée and foil. The six-day program featured 12 sets of medals in individual and team events.

Mykolaiv athletes achieved the following results in the individual sabre events:

• Gold and 1st place — Yurii Tsap.
• Bronze and 3rd place — Oleksandra Bondar.
• Bronze and 3rd place — Viktoriia Korotchenko.

The sabre athletes also won medals in the team events:

• Yurii Tsap and Daniil Skorokhod were champions as members of the CSK Armed Forces of Ukraine-1 team. This was another gold medal for Yurii Tsap at the tournament, in addition to his individual victory.
• Oleksandra Bondar, Viktoriia Korotchenko, Alisa Kostina and Anastasiia Shvets took 2nd place, representing the “Mykolaiv-1” team.

Mykolaiv athletes also made their mark in team foil as members of “Dynamo-1”:

• Kira Pron, Milana Stepovyk and Anastasiia Yerofieienko won gold and 1st place.
• Yelizar Dyrda, Bohdan Boldariev, Mykhailo Hurin and Maksym Korzhovoi won silver and 2nd place.
