Failed to report to the military enlistment office after receiving a summons: Mykolaiv resident sentenced to three years in prison
The verdict has not yet entered into force and may be appealed
A 29-year-old resident of Mykolaiv was sentenced to three years in prison for evading conscription for military service during mobilization. The man failed to report to the recruitment center on the date specified in his summons.
Prosecutors from the Mykolaiv City District Prosecutor’s Office proved in court that the man had undergone a military medical commission before receiving the summons. He was found fit for military service based on his health.
After that, the Mykolaiv resident personally received and signed for a summons stating the date he was required to report to the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRSSC). However, he failed to comply, with no valid reason for his absence. The court found that this conduct constituted evasion of conscription during mobilization and a violation of current legislation.
The man was found guilty under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The verdict will take effect after the period for appealing it expires.
