Mykolaiv Zoo traded its puma cubs for two Amur tiger cubs
The new residents are four and a half months old, and they don’t have names yet
Two Amur tiger cubs, aged four and a half months, have settled in at the Mykolaiv Zoo. The Mykolaiv City Council announced the addition to the zoo’s collection on October 23, citing its director, Volodymyr Topchyi.
The cubs arrived from the Limpopo Zoo in Drohobych. The zoos exchanged animals: in return, cougar cubs born at the Mykolaiv Zoo went from Mykolaiv to Drohobych.
“This is a new generation of tigers at our zoo. They are already settling into their new home,” said Volodymyr Topchyi, director of the Mykolaiv Zoo.
The tiger cubs have not been named yet. The director has invited residents and visitors to Mykolaiv to help choose their names. Suggestions can be posted in the comments under the relevant post on the Mykolaiv Zoo’s official social media page.
