October 9, 2026, US President Donald Trump announced an agreement with Russia President Vladimir Putin on the supply of Russian diesel fuel. It is to be directed to both the American and global markets.

To begin the shipments, the US Treasury Department is already issuing a temporary license. At Trump’s direction, it is being issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC): the document will allow Russian diesel to be supplied to the global market.

“I have just held extremely successful talks with Russia President Vladimir Putin, during which I agreed that Russia will immediately supply more than 300,000 tonnes of diesel fuel to the American and global markets, another 500,000 tonnes in November, and 1,000,000 tonnes immediately thereafter,” said US President Donald Trump.

In addition to these shipments, Russia is to supply a further 3 million tonnes of diesel fuel within a short period.

Journalist Alex Raufoglu of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty noted that the US Treasury Department had authorized the supply of Russian diesel, lifting sanctions on it until April 7, 2027.

News of the talks has been accompanied by a rapid rise in the Russian market.

The US military is also preparing for possible combat operations against Cuba. A US invasion could begin in the coming months.
