The municipal enterprise “Mykolaivelektrotrans” has not received funding from the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council since September 2026. Because of this, the enterprise may run out of money to pay for electricity by the end of October, although there are currently funds to pay employees’ wages.

This was reported on September 5, 2026, during an administrative meeting at the city council by the company’s director Yuriy Smetana. According to him, electric transport in Mykolaiv is still operating normally, but the enterprise is not receiving funds from the customer, and payments for services are also blocked by the State Treasury Service.

“Since September the enterprise has not received a single hryvnia from the customer, from the executive committee, and the accounts for service payments are also blocked in the State Treasury Service. If this continues, by the end of October we will not be able to pay for electricity,” – said Yuriy Smetana.

At the same time, the director noted that there will be enough funds for employees’ salaries.

“We will have money for salaries. But there will be no money to pay for electricity,” – added Yuriy Smetana.

Another unresolved issue, the director of “Mykolaivelektrotrans” named, is the signing of a contract between the executive committee and the enterprise for November and December.

The mayor, Oleksandr Senkevych, for his part said that the city council is aware of problems with making payments through the treasury. According to him, this situation concerns not only “Mykolaivelektrotrans”.

“We know about this issue regarding the treasury. It is known, and it is not only here with us. Regarding the last two months, as I understand it, this is connected to the lack of funds on our side and our recent appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada,” – said Oleksandr Senkevych.
