In Odesa, an officer of the territorial recruitment center accepted a bribe in fuel vouchers to influence the military medical commission: the court imposed a fine
Not money, but diesel: an officer of the Territorial Recruitment Center received a bribe in fuel vouchers
The bribe was not cash but vouchers for diesel fuel: in Odesa the Khadzhibey District Court on 24 September 2026 found guilty an officer of the mobilization department of the Territorial Centers for Recruitment and Social Support (TRC), who had promised to influence the decision of the military-medical commission. For the undue benefit received he must pay a fine of UAH 93,500, and for three years will not be able to hold positions in territorial recruitment centers.
As stated in the court’s verdict, the incident occurred on 29 June 2026. The lieutenant received from a representative of the person liable for military service 100 vouchers for 1,000 liters of diesel fuel with a total value of UAH 79,900.
For this reward the official promised to assist in issuing the man a referral to the Military Medical Commission (MMC), entering into the relevant documents information about the absence of violations of military registration, and also coordinating with the head of the military-medical commission a decision to recognize the person liable for military service as limitedly fit for military service. During the trial the accused fully admitted his guilt.
The court also credited him with time served – from 29 June to 3 August 2026. In addition, the property seizure was lifted. After the verdict came into legal force the court ordered the return of the bail posted for the accused in the amount of UAH 266,240. The diesel fuel vouchers that were the subject of the undue benefit will be handed over to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Odesa Oblast.
