Sirens still sound for about three minutes: Mykolaiv residents reminded about the promised reduction

Residents of Mykolaiv have again raised the issue of the duration and volume of air-raid alarm signals. The corresponding appeal was published in the Contact Center at the Mykolaiv City Council.

Residents reminded that the city authorities had promised to reduce the siren sounding to 30 seconds at the yellow alert level and to 1 minute at the red alert level. However, according to the authors of the appeal, the signals still last about 3 minutes.

Residents also drew attention to the loudness of the sirens. In some parts of the city it is considered excessive, so they ask for an explanation of whether the sound level complies with established standards.

Separately, residents ask why an air alert is announced in Mykolaiv when the threat is associated with targets transiting over the territory of Mykolaiv Oblast. They want to know when the alert system will be reconfigured and the duration and loudness of the signals reduced.

Earlier the city announced the retuning of the sirens: the alarm signal was to last 1 minute, and the all-clear was planned to be conveyed by a voice message.
