Payments to the military are promised without disruptions: the government has found $7 billion for defense

The government has found $7 billion to finance defense. The funds are planned to be obtained through internal optimization, savings, and reallocation of budget expenditures, and soldiers’ pay is promised to be funded without interruption.

This was stated by Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi on a telethon, writes RBC-Ukraine.

We have already started a strict process of saving in our finances. We are allocating funds to the army, the Defense Forces, so that there will be no disruptions in defense funding.

The prime minister explained that budget priorities are constantly being reviewed because the situation changes every day. The government is looking for additional sources, cutting expenditures, and reallocating existing resources.

Every single day the situation changes, and we look for optimization, look for sources, and reallocate existing resources to set priorities.

Serhiy Koretskyi divided defense spending into two parts. The first includes military salaries, payments for the fallen, and other assistance to their families.

There are absolutely no problems with that. We will definitely cover it.

The second part covers military equipment, increasing the number of drones, as well as means in the deep strike and middle strike categories. A separate scheme is being discussed with manufacturers under which enterprises will not stop production, and the state will buy the equipment later — for example, in January–February, when it is needed.

To continue work, companies need to be paid advances. In addition, the government is considering the possibility of joint guarantees with European partners that will give manufacturers confidence in the further financing of orders.

Only advances need to be paid, and perhaps together with our European partners we will provide certain guarantees that will allow manufacturers to move forward confidently and continue production.
