During the Nazi occupation a concert was held in the city theatre for German troops, decades later the local brewery “Yantar” celebrated an anniversary, and during the full-scale war the city endured a night with 6 Russian missiles. Another date is connected to the memory of a defender from Shyroka Balka.
27 September 1941: in Mykolaiv a concert was held for German troops
In the city theatre during the Nazi occupation a concert by the city chapel took place. The virtual museum of the city Mykolaiv reported that the main audience were German soldiers and officers quartered in the city. Researchers call this performance the first cultural event held in the territory of the General District “Mykolaiv” after the establishment of the occupation authorities.
27 September 2018: “Yantar” in Korablevnyi marked 45 years
The Mykolaiv brewery “Yantar”, located in the Korablevnyi District, celebrated its 45th anniversary. Korabelov.Info reported on the company’s jubilee, and the company itself confirmed that the brewery was built in 1973 according to a Czech design using advanced technologies for that time.
27 September 2022: Mykolaiv endured 2 nighttime missile attacks
Russian forces shelled Mykolaiv twice during the night. As reported the head of the Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim, a total of 6 missiles were launched at the city: 2 rocket projectiles of the “Smerch”/”Tornado-S” type struck the centre, and another 4 S-300 missiles hit the industrial zone. Residential buildings, shops and the water supply were damaged; a warehouse building was destroyed and caught fire. According to reports at the time, there were no deaths or injuries.
27 September 2024: Shyroka Balka formed a living corridor for Vitalii Oleksandrovych Sukhotko
Residents of Shyroka Balka were urged to come out from Mayachna Street and form a living corridor to receive “on the shield” the fallen defender Vitalii Oleksandrovych Sukhotko. The soldier from the Korablevnyi District defended Ukraine as part of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign.
