After a collision between a Fiat and a Chevrolet in Mykolaiv, two people were taken to the hospital

In Mykolaiv today, September 26, at approximately 9:35 a.m. a Fiat Doblo van and a Chevrolet Aveo passenger car collided. The accident occurred near building No. 63 in the area of the intersection of Pogranichnoyi and 1st Slobidska streets. Two people with injuries were taken to a medical facility.

The van was driven by a 49-year-old man, who was not injured as a result of the collision. The Chevrolet Aveo was driven by a 70-year-old man. He and a 73-year-old female passenger of that car sustained bodily injuries of varying severity.

Investigators have provisionally qualified the traffic accident under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by persons driving vehicles. The article provides for up to three years of restriction of liberty with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for the same term. The police continue to establish the circumstances of the crash.

The Transport Crimes Investigation Department of the investigative directorate asks witnesses and others who have information about the accident to call 063-785-04-20 or 102.
