Veterans with disabilities held the first joint adaptive training in Mykolaiv

At the Mykolaiv City Center for War Veterans’ Support a meeting was held dedicated to the development of adaptive sports for veterans with disabilities. Its practical result was the first joint training session accompanied by a physical adaptation specialist.

Veterans representing:

• Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv Oblast;
• the police of Mykolaiv Oblast;
• National Guard of Ukraine.

Participants familiarized themselves with the center’s facilities and discussed possibilities for their use to practice various types of adaptive sports. After that, the veterans conducted a joint training session together with the physical adaptation specialist.

The center’s director Viktor Moiseev noted that the meeting was the result of a joint initiative:

This meeting is the result of our joint initiative. It is important that we not only talk about the opportunities of adaptive sport, but also create conditions where veterans can try themselves in different types of physical activity. Today we did exactly that — we discussed the next steps together and held the first training session.
