Mykolaiv youth are collecting funds for hand warmers for the soldiers of the 36th and 79th Brigades

Ahead of the Day of Defenders and Defenderesses of Ukraine in Mykolaiv, a charity drive was announced to purchase chemical warmers for servicemen of the 36th and 79th brigades. The initiative is carried out by the Council on Youth Policy under the Mykolaiv City Mayor together with partners from the NGO “Prava Molod”.

Organizers emphasize: the cold season is ahead, and for servicemen who spend long periods on positions, the ability to warm their hands and feet is no longer a matter of mere comfort. Chemical warmers help retain heat in low-temperature conditions and can become a necessary item during extended time outdoors.

The cost of one such warmer is about 30 UAH. The Youth Council of Mykolaiv notes that for most people this is a small everyday expense, but even such a contribution can turn into real help for a serviceman.

“One warmer costs about 30 UAH. That’s roughly one of the most ordinary small daily expenses, in particular less than the price of a cup of coffee. You can forgo one such little thing and instead give a serviceman a bit of warmth,” — emphasize the Youth Council of Mykolaiv.

The fundraiser will run until 28 September. After its completion, with all the funds received, young activists plan to purchase chemical warmers and hand them over to representatives of the 36th and 79th brigades.

The Council on Youth Policy under the Mykolaiv City Mayor urges concerned residents to join the charitable initiative and help provide defenders with warmth ahead of the cold season.
