A man fled after sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl

In Berezan, Kyiv region a 47-year-old man is suspected of sexual violence against an 11-year-old girl. The circumstances of the case were made public by the Kyiv Regional Police and the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the investigation, on 14 September the man was left alone with his wife’s 11-year-old niece and committed sexual acts against the child. The wife entered the room and found the man at the scene.

After that he left the house and tried to hide. Law enforcement officers located the man the same day and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The detainee has been charged under Part 4 of Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — sexual violence against a person who has not reached the age of 14. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
