A 17-year-old girl from Dnipro was collecting coordinates of military personnel for the Russian Federation — SBU
Russian handlers offered her "easy money" on Telegram
In Dnipro, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a 17-year-old local resident suspected of passing information about the locations of Ukrainian military personnel to Russian special services. The SBU said this on Thursday, September 17.
According to the investigation, the girl was to find the coordinates of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine. She walked city streets, photographed relevant locations, and sent the collected materials via a messenger to a handler from the Russian Federation.
The SBU clarified:
“She transmitted the information in the form of photos and Google Maps screenshots marked with potential targets.”
During the detention, intelligence materials were found on the minor’s phone that contained coordinates of Ukrainian sites.
The security service claims that Russian handlers contacted the girl through channels on Telegram, where they offered “easy earnings.” Her activity, according to the SBU, was stopped at an early stage, and the girl herself was detained at her place of residence.
She was notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — unauthorized dissemination of information about the movement or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under martial law. The article’s sanction provides for up to 12 years of imprisonment.
The investigation continues. Investigators are also considering whether to additionally qualify the girl’s actions under the article on treason.
The measures were carried out by employees of the SBU’s military counterintelligence under the procedural supervision of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
