Russian attacks in Ukraine: people killed, two-year-old girl sustained a shrapnel wound to the eye

September 8 Russian forces attacked the Kyiv, Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk regions. As a result of shelling and strikes, people were killed and dozens of residents were wounded.

The consequences of the attacks were reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) and representatives of the regional military administrations.

Kyiv region

In the Kyiv region, 2 people were killed and 3 others were injured. This was reported by the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.

Among the wounded is a two-year-old girl from Boryspil. She sustained a shrapnel injury to the eye, remains conscious and is in hospital.

In the Bucha district, a fire broke out on the premises of warehouse facilities after a drone attack. Rescuers extinguished the blaze; a car was also damaged.

Strike on a diesel train in Sumy region

In Sumy region, Russian drones attacked a suburban diesel train. Preliminary reports indicate 10 people were wounded. The locomotive and a passenger carriage caught fire after the strike.

Rescuers simultaneously extinguished the fire and handed the injured over to medical personnel. During their operation, Russian forces carried out a second strike, but DSNS personnel were not harmed.

All fire hotspots were eliminated. Together with local authorities, rescuers evacuated 19 passengers. Due to disruptions to train traffic, buses transported a total of 60 people.

Consequences of attacks in Dnipropetrovsk region

During the day, Russian forces struck the Dnipropetrovsk region nearly 50 times with drones, artillery and aerial bombs.

In Nikopol district, 2 men were killed and 6 other people were wounded. Nikopol, Marganets, Pokrovsk and Myronivka communities were hit. Private houses were damaged.

In Dnipro, a 31-year-old woman was injured. In the Kryvyi Rih area a 54-year-old woman was wounded, and in Synelnykove district a 67-year-old woman was injured.

Attacks also damaged a private house and a car. Fires broke out at an enterprise and in one private house.

Attack on a gas station in Kharkiv

In Kharkiv, an enemy drone attacked a gas station. 2 people were injured.
