The number of people killed as a result of the strike on Bucha District rose to 37: a day of mourning was declared in the Kyiv region

The number of people killed as a result of an enemy strike on Bucha district, Kyiv region, has risen to 37. This was reported by the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.

According to him, work at the scene of the tragedy continues. Rescuers and other relevant services are eliminating the consequences of the attack and carrying out the necessary tasks.

“This is a terrible and irreparable loss. My sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased,” — said Tymur Tkachenko.

Because of the tragedy, August 30 was declared a Day of Mourning in the Kyiv region for those killed as a result of the Russian attack. As a sign of grief and remembrance, the State flags of Ukraine will be lowered in the region. The holding of entertainment events will be restricted.

On the evening of August 28 in Bucha district, after an enemy attack, a large-scale fire broke out, which was later accompanied by detonation. As a result of the strike, residential houses and infrastructure facilities were damaged, and local residents were evacuated from the danger zone.

Earlier reports spoke of a fire and a powerful detonation near Kyiv, the ignition of residential buildings, and the death toll rising to 27. The tragedy near Kyiv, where 27 people were killed, was also addressed by Volodymyr Zelensky.
