He went to defend Ukraine himself and disappeared in 2022: four years later Korabelnyi bid farewell to Pavlo Nikolyshyn

In Mykolaiv today, on 17 August 2026, the defender of Ukraine Pavlo Anatoliyovych Nikolishyn was laid to rest. For more than four years his family, relatives and friends waited for news about the serviceman, hoping for a miracle. Unfortunately, the hope for his return alive did not come true.

The funeral procession set off at 10:30 from the regional bureau of forensic medical examination. The cortege traveled along Central Avenue and then along Bohoyavlenskyi Avenue toward the Korabelnyi District of Mykolaiv.

Residents came out along the route to pay their last respects to the Hero. People with flowers greeted the funeral procession and knelt in front of the vehicle carrying the fallen defender.

The farewell and funeral service for Pavlo Anatoliyovych Nikolishyn took place at 12:00 at the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in the Balabanivka neighborhood. Family, friends, acquaintances and local residents came to see the warrior off on his final journey.

Before the full-scale war, Pavlo Anatoliyovych Nikolishyn worked at the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant in the calcination shop. In 2022 he himself went to defend Ukraine from Russian aggression.

The open database of losses notes that Pavlo Anatoliyovych Nikolishyn was born on 9 September 1982, and went missing on 31 July 2022 in the area of the settlement of Pisky in the Donetsk region.

Since then more than four years of searches, waiting and hope have passed. Relatives waited for any news and hoped until the end that the defender would return home alive. On 17 August 2026 his native Mykolaiv welcomed the warrior for the final farewell.
