Hazardous walkways, a dead tree above the benches — residents in Korabelnyi demand repairs to the courtyards

Residents of the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv continue to draw the city authorities’ attention to the condition of yard areas. During 15–16 July 2026 residents of Okeanivska Street reported a neglected playground, a hazardous pedestrian path and a dead tree leaning over the benches.

15 July the Contact Center at the Mykolaiv City Council received an appeal from Hanna E. She asked to put the playground next to the building at Okeanivska St., 22 in order:

“Opposite entrance 9 the old playground elements need to be repainted, sand should be brought into the sandbox, the swings repaired and new playground equipment installed.”

16 July two appeals regarding the area near the building at Okeanivska St., 40a were published by Olga R. In the first she reported the dangerous condition of the path used by residents of several neighboring buildings.

“Please pay attention to the hazardous path in the yard of the building at Okeanivska, 40a, which is in a terrible condition: the paving slabs have deteriorated over time, rebar is sticking out, the path is uneven, people often trip and get injured, it is impossible to pass with strollers, and as a result people have already trampled a footpath nearby. Please make the path safe — it is used not only by residents of our building but also by neighbors, since the microdistrict is very large.”

In the second post Olga R. asked to remove a dry leaning tree:

“Okeanivska St., 40a, opposite entrance 4 — a dead tree that has already leaned over. There are benches under it where people rest. Please remove the tree.”

The rapid response service registered all three appeals and forwarded them to the relevant services.

The issue regarding the playground near the building at Okeanivska St., 22 was sent for execution to the municipal enterprise “Single Customer Directorate “Pilot”. The complaint about the hazardous tree near the building at Okeanivska St., 40a was forwarded to the municipal enterprise “Mykolaiv Parks”, and the appeal regarding the dangerous path — to the administration of the Korabelnyi district.

Residents’ appeals once again demonstrate problems with the maintenance of courtyards and playgrounds in the Korabelnyi district. Earlier residents of Okeanivska Street had already complained about exposed rebar on the sports ground and the neglected condition of children’s areas.
