Climbed onto a tank car: 16-year-old girl suffered severe burns
A dangerous walk on the railway ended in serious injuries
In the evening of July 14, 2026, on the premises of a railway station in the Pervomaiskyi district a 16-year-old girl suffered a high-voltage electric shock. This was reported on July 15 by the Mykolaiv region police.
Law enforcement officers found that the minor, together with friends, was hanging out near a freight train. When the girl climbed onto a tank car, she was electrocuted. The victim, with body burns, was hospitalized. Medical staff assess her condition as serious.
Investigators opened a criminal proceeding under Art.128 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Careless grievous or moderate bodily injury”. At present, law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
The police urged parents to monitor their children’s leisure and regularly remind them of the danger of being on the railway. Law enforcement emphasized that no photo or video is worth a human life. Citizens who notice children on railcars or near dangerous railway facilities are asked to inform station staff, call 102 or 101, and, if possible, to record the incident.
