Non-staff advisor to the Mykolaiv mayor on veterans, families of fallen defenders and prisoners of war Gennadiy Zadyrko raised the issue of holding a nationwide minute of silence at city markets.

According to him, together with Oleksandr Kurlyak he holds meetings with representatives of the trade sector, calling on entrepreneurs to pause work daily at 09:00 and honor the memory of those killed as a result of Russian aggression. Zadyrko reported that the markets near the Old railway station, as well as the station itself, began to join the minute of silence the day after the conversation.

At the same time, the advisor claims he was unable to arrange a meeting with the leadership of the so-called “Dyumin’s markets”. He said that for two days the markets manager Khrystyna refused to meet and did not provide the owner’s phone number. In his post Zadyrko sharply criticized the owner of the markets Anatoliy Dyumin, who has been a non-staff advisor to the mayor on socio-economic issues since 2021. Zadyrko used a number of sarcastic remarks and publicly urged him to enable announcements of the minute of silence at trading venues.

“Anatoliy Hryhorovych, be an example for everyone. Start with yourself — enable the audio announcement of the minute of silence at your markets,” the advisor addressed.

He also emphasized that entrepreneurs doing business on leased city land should remember that the ability to work today is ensured by Ukrainian servicemen, including residents of Mykolaiv, who are defending the city and the country.
